Late for the party...

Sorry, I've been away for a while. Had to take some time off after Halloween. Now I am back to the ghosts and will try to add one or two a week as time permits. This one is making her entrance to the grand ballroom.

This ghost has been away for a while...

This ghost hasn't been seen in the Mansion for a long time. What can you tell us about the hardest to find ghost?

Saturday, October 30, 2010

Or was this the way out?

If you look carefully in the corridors you will see a portrait of our "Ghost Host" but he seems to have found another way out of the room with no doors. Is this what really happened to him?

This hitchhiker has a secret!

Is the secret in the bag? I understand that this ghost is also a singer. What do you know about Phineas P. Pock?

The Knight watching from the shadows.

Is this a real knight or a ghost inhabiting a suit of armor? What do you know about the crests on the shield?

A light in the endless hallway...

Who was this ghost? A lost soul trying to find a way out of the mansion or perhaps trying to lure guests down the wrong path?

I challenge you to a duel!

This figure appears in portrait form and materializes into a ghost right before your eyes. What score did he have to settle in a duel? Was it over a woman? Over honor or money even?

Howling at the moon?

This skeleton dog is on a little hill, is this was a Hell Hound looks like?

Thursday, October 21, 2010

The 13th Hour.

Some ghosts take the shapes of eerie objects. This is certainly not an ordinary grandfather clock!

Wednesday, October 20, 2010

Out for a spot of tea.

This ghost is very shy, you can only see him pouring a spot of tea out in the graveyard. I wonder what he looks like when he materializes.

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

Try not to stare...

This is a portrait of a gorgon, try not to stare or she might turn you to stone!

Monday, October 18, 2010

In no rush at all!

This one was on the way to the burial when he had to stop for some tea. Do you remember the empty coach? This casket was the one that slid out from it.

Thursday, October 14, 2010

Hail to the king!

We can spot this ghost portrait in the hallway. Is this the king of the ghouls or a ghost playing make-believe?

I'm with the band too!

This happy haunt is the percussionist with the graveyard band.

Wednesday, October 13, 2010

Out for a short ride!

This ghost can be seen doing laps around a tree. He looks like he's having fun too!

Tuesday, October 12, 2010

Not all things are what they appear to be!

Look carefully inside the Haunted Mansion and you might see someone or something else looking back!

Hitting the right notes.

The organ player I would count as one ghost, the organ he is playing on would be something else...

The Matriarch of the family?

I'm a firm believer in "ghost magic," that is the ability for ghosts to distort reality within the Haunted Mansion. They can make rooms and doors stretch, bring artifacts to life and even make their own faces appear in portrait photographs or daguerrotype. While the body was not implied in the Mansion I decided to share with visitors how I think the ghost faces appear in the portraits lining the hallway. What do you think?

Let me out!

This poor soul doesn't know he is already dead... or does he?

Wednesday, October 6, 2010

There's always my way...

Did this person take the cowards way out? Or was this poor soul tormented by his past and could only find one escape? The skeletal remains might be the biggest mystery in the Haunted Mansion.

A good day for a knight...

Sorry, I've always wanted to use that line for this ghost. Was this knight less like King Arthur and more like Don Quixote?

Monday, October 4, 2010

A reason to celebrate!

This ghost is having a great time, literally swinging from the rafters! Was he somebody's crazy uncle?

Wednesday, September 29, 2010

Celebrating a special day!

It seems this ghost was the guest of honor in the grand ballroom. Was she celebrating a birthday when she passed on? Or was she celebrating the anniversary of her death?

Tuesday, September 28, 2010

One for the road?

Here is one of the more popular and memorable ghosts. This fellow needs a ride. Who was he and where is he going to?

Monday, September 27, 2010

The Coachman is running late?

Or is the coachman early for a wake? Where is the coffin he was carrying? Do you know?

Tuesday, September 7, 2010

This one is always watching you...

Was this the headmaster of the house? Who was this man and why is there a bust of him in the house?

The grimmest occupation in the afterlife, Ghost #004

This person had a very grim job in the living world and seems to bear a heavy burden in graveyard. Who is the key for and is he still charged with keeping some spirits under control in the great beyond?

This guy can hold a note...

This ghost is playing a herald trumpet, not a vuvuzela as many might think. He's a member of a ghost band that will be featured in the future. What was his name and what was his story?

Thursday, August 12, 2010

What's that you say?

Two ghosts in two days, here's another one of my personal favorites. . This is the ghost that I believe to be physically the oldest of the lot. He certainly must have been older than the mummy in passing and that's probably why they get along so well. Old bones like to stick together. Who is this old timer and why is he so interested in the story of our friend the mummy?

Wednesday, August 11, 2010

Let's start at the beginning... Ghost #001

I am not going to begin this series with the first ghost that you see at the Haunted Mansion, but rather which one I think has the record for being the oldest. Who was the mummy and what was his story?

What the future holds?

Hello mortals. After some web surfing I discovered that not every ghost from the Haunted Mansion attraction at Disneyland had a name or history.

I decided to begin an online repository of these permanent guests in blog form. I will be drawing up the ghosts and ask all of the Disney fans to try and give me a name and their story in the comments section.

There are 999 haunts, if I cranked out one drawing each day it would take me almost three years to fill up the roster. I doubt that I will be posting more than a few a week but still, it should be a fun artistic challenge.

What do you guys and ghouls think about that?
